At Prévost Architectural, we offer professional shop drawing services to ensure the optimal integration of our architectural systems into your construction projects.
Our drawings translate architectural plans into precise technical documents required for the manufacturing and installation of our products.
1. Architectural Drawings
Architectural drawings consist of the complete integration of Prévost Architectural products into the project’s architectural plans.
As part of this mandate, our team analyzes and provides recommendations regarding:
- Proper application of products
- Product performance (structural, thermal, and weather resistance)
- Compliance with the applicable Building Code
Deliverables
The documents produced may include:
- Project key plan
- Technical specifications
- System elevations
- Product technical details
- Preliminary drawings with a list of technical questions (RFI), if required
- Dimension adjustments by the client prior to production
- Engineering seal (optional) to validate technical recommendations
2. Glazing Drawings (Shop Details / “Grey Sections”)
Glazing drawings, often referred to as “grey sections,” represent product layouts based on Prévost Architectural’s standard details.
These drawings apply to systems supplied by Prévost and generally exclude:
- Wall conditions
- Rough openings of the building
Client Responsibilities
The client remains responsible for validating:
- Proper installation of products
- Overall system performance (structural, thermal, and weather resistance)
Deliverables
- Technical specifications
- Product elevations
- Technical details
- List of technical questions (RFI), if required
- Dimension adjustments prior to production
- Optional engineering seal for structural validation and anchorage reactions in accordance with the Building Code
Required Documents to Initiate the Process
To begin the drawing process, the following documents must be provided:
- Signed purchase order
- Architectural and construction drawings (PDF)
- CAD drawings (if available)
- Architectural specifications
- Glazing specifications
- List of hardware supplied by each party
- Completed project initiation questionnaire
Limitations
Shop drawings are prepared based on the documents provided by the client and must be reviewed and approved prior to use.
Prévost Architectural produces these drawings exclusively for products within its own range.
